Lene Kuhl Jakobsen

Originally from Denmark, Lene completed a degree in ceramics and worked as a potter before moving to Australia in 1985. Lene works from her home studio in Melbourne, skilfully throwing all her work on the pottery wheel.  Lene combines the natural simplicity of the pot shaped by the hands with the restrained use of decoration. She balances the use of tactile effects and additions with the application of satiny glaze finishes in order to enhance the shape of each unique piece.
